About Us
At Gratitude Healing Arts Foundation, we connect skilled practitioners with clients that are most in need of support are not financially able to obtain the specific quality programs and treatments that they need to make progress on their healing path. We help support and lift up people in times of transformation, focusing on manual and energetic therapy, movement based therapy, and transformational coaching and consultation, in that order.

We believe in the treatment theories outlined in the book 'The Tao of the Polyvagal Theory: A Five Element Perspective for a Future of Healing the Spirit and Balancing the Autonomic Nervous System,' that describe a method of order to support the body in releasing and integrating past trauma in a non re-traumatizing way.
"You cannot heal trauma with more trauma." And it is unethical to intentionally trigger past trauma under the guise of the healing process.
Somatic healing does not have to be a traumatic experience.

We work with anyone in life transition, including Veterans; first responders, those in recovery from substance abuse, domestic violence, or physical or emotional injury from accidents or abusive family/personal relationships; children in foster care; refugees;
and those in the process of integrating Grief and the grieving experience.
We work with all ages from infants to senior adults, and connect people with practitioners that are specialized to work with each population.
We believe that a sovereign self is essential for the ability to be resilient and self-regulate your Autonomic Nervous System; and that the ability to self regulate and feel supported is essential for adults to be open to co-regulation and connection within their community.

Our practitioners that work with children under the age of 16 years old offer gentle, supportive co-regulation opportunities for these developing nervous systems, so that they may cultivate the ability to self-regulate during stressful situations.
Whenever possible the practitioners that we align with to provide services have committed to provide feedback and information about sessions. We may use this information to assess the effectiveness of the methods and therapies provided. This research may be analyzed and published, in order to help others learn from the methods used and track progress of the individuals we work with on their path of healing. All of the information we collect is anonymous and used only to improve technique and the experience of the people we work with.
The practitioners that we work with have been trained in the elementalAdvanced methods of treatment outlined in the book, 'The Tao of the Polyvagal Theory,' that specifically address how complex trauma, chronic stress, and emotion move through and settle within the physical body, affecting autonomic regulation and balance.
These methods take specific care to address the up-regulation and down-regulation of the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems, in a specific way that is intended to avoid the potential for triggering negative experiences or creating new trauma from the healing process.
More information about this publication, methods, and the elementalAdvanced curriculum can be found here.
